SUMMARY: The leaders of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan came together in November in the Uzbekistan capital Tashkent. The two leaders reportedly signed agreements outlining economic and humanitarian cooraporation and also discussed Central Asia’s water disputes. POLITICS: This relates to politics because it is one country, Turkmenistan, trying to get along with another country, Uzbekistan. It is important to the country because it could potentially cause less violence. |
OPINION:
I think this is a step in the right direction. Two leaders whose countries previously were hostile towards each other becoming warmer towards one another is a way to prevent violence between the two countries, which that part of the world certainly doesn’t need any more of. |
